What is Rotary?

Rotary is an organisation of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

Our Club

The Rotary Club of Knights Pendragon was formed in Edenvale, Johannesburg, South Africa on 26th August, 1989.   The 34 Founder Members were all ex-Round Tablers (41-ers).   Knights was chosen as the "location" as it was a nearby suburb and because of its association with King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.   Uther Pendragon was King Arthur's father.

Club meetings are on Wednesday evenings at 18:00 for 18:30.   The venue is Ambience, Holy Rosary Sports Grounds, 4 Adjutant Road, Elma Park, Edenvale.   The first meeting of the month is usually devoted to committee meetings.   Two of the remaining meetings are speaker meetings, with current projects being discussed at the other meeting.   When there is a fifth Wednesday in the month, a social meeting, usually at a venue away from Ambience, is held to which wives/partners are invited.   Dress for Club meetings is smart/casual.
